Ice Dancing is characterised by moves forward and backwards, spins and lifts. It is the combination of sport and grace. Rather than strength, this discipline requires suppleness, reflexes, elasticity, speed and virtuosity. Each move is controlled thanks to physical and emotional harmony.
Morzine-Avoriaz has a long lasting history in the discipline and the club has brought to light great champions such as Pascal Lavanchy and Sophie Moniotte, who came second at the 1994 World Championships. Today the club has many members, from beginners to advanced, and takes part in numerous competitions.
Shows and competitions are regularly organised in Morzine, such as the traditional end of season club show, or the Portes du Soleil Trophy in 2011, which was part of the national championships.
